I would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank all the children for their impeccable behaviour during the trip. Their good behaviour has been commented on by many staff in the hotel, the monitors and the ski instructors. Secondly, thank you to all parents for trusting St George's to take your children to Sierra Nevada. I know it can be a difficult to leave your children in the hands of others for a number of days. Finally, I would like to thank all of the instructors, monitors and teachers who have supervised the children during the trip. Working 24 hours a day with so many children is hard work and it is thanks to them that all children have attended a trip they will not forget. We have just completed our last ski down the slopes. The difference in ability from day 1 to now is amazing! All pupils have had a fantastic trip and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Now, all pupils will go back to the hotel, have lunch and then change into their warm clothes ready for their return journey. We hope this blog has helped you say in touch with your children and I will upload all photographs by Monday This morning children have been woken up a little earlier to give them time to pack their bags and get ready. After they have had their breakfast, they will get the bus down to the plaza and get ready for their final morning of skiing. After skiing, they will go back down to the plaza, have their lunch and give all their rental equipment back. Then we will go back to the hotel, pack our bags and leave Sierra Nevada. The time we leave depends on how quick children are after skiing but we hope to stick to the following times: Seville - leave between 3pm-4pm, Almeria and Malaga - leave between 4pm-5pm. It's the start of day 2 skiing. All pupils are now up (just about) and getting ready for breakfast. Once we have had breakfast, we will check everyone has the right equipment and return any equipment found by the monitors. Then some pupils need to change ther boots because they said they are too tight so they will get on the first bus down to the plaza and everyone else will stay in the warm hotel until it comes back for the second group. Once all pupils are ready, we will begin our acent for our morning ski lessons. All children have thoroughly enjoyed the disco and danced all night! There are plenty more pictures to come soon Today, all pupils had an excellent day of skiing! This morning they were their instructors and learnt the next steps in becoming a skier and then after lunch they stayed in their groups to practise what they had learnt during the morning. Some pupils were very tired and not feeling 100% fit but continued anyway, determined to get as much out of the trip as possible. We have now all safely arrived back at the hotel having got the bus up here and getting showered. Although pupils are tired they are very much looking forward to the disco this evening. Once again, there are lots of pictures and it is not possible to upload them here. I will make sure you get to see them. We have finished our day of skiing now and are back at the hotel. Children are just finishing their showers and then we will have our dinner and evening games. All pupils have had a lovely time although some pupils are very tired. Please note: if your child is not in a picture please do not worry, the connection here isn't fast enough to upload all of the MANY pictures but I will be making a video of every picture when the trip is finished Almeria and Seville have spent the morning skiing and are now making there way down the mountain to have lunch. Malaga have got their equipment and had lunch so have just begun skiing. Once we have finished out lunch we will join Malaga as a whole group Malaga arrived this morning and are currently getting their equipment This morning children got up at 7:30 and get ready. At 8am we are going to go for breakfast and then check the weather conditions After our dinner we went and played some games to help us remember each other's names. It was wet fun! Now all pupils are in their rooms and starting to go to sleep Both schools arrived safely. Malaga have decided to come tomorrow morning due to bad weather conditions on the road. Once each school arrives in Sierra Nevada, I will try my best to update the blog and let you know but please don't worry if this is not immediate, as you can appreciate the children are my priory. As the saying goes 'no news is good news!' Please feel free to comment on the blog and I will try my best you share these comments with everyone. Welcome to our blog. We will be using this site to let you know what we have been doing on our trip each day. For now, why not visit last year's site and read what they did.
